Early morning swimming in a quite section of the Thames with qualified lifeguards and changing facilities available.


Detailed Description

A unique opportunity to swim every Thursday morning 7am to 8am June to August in a quiet section of Oxford's Thames with qualified open water lifeguards on hand for emergencies. 

Open water swimming is a fast growing activity with growing evidence that the cold adaption can improve mood and reduce anxiety. 

The swims take place from Falcon Rowing and Canoe club with parking, changing and showers available. 

The cost is £40, giving access to as many sessions as you want in June, July and August.

Price includes Brookes Sport swim cap which must be worn. 

All swimmers must be able to confidently swim 100 meters. 

The water is cold but should be always above 12 degrees and will normally be between 15 and 20 degrees. Wearing a wetsuit is optional. Wetsuits are not provided.

All participants must be over 18 and you will be required to sign a declaration prior to swimming to confirm that you are a confident swimmer, understand the risks and will follow the rules.
