The Portfolio Development course offers the opportunity to experience what it is like to study in the School of Arts at Oxford Brookes. Designed for those with an interest in pursuing a career in the creative industries, the courses offer a broad range of practises within Art and Design as well as guidance and support on creative applications.
The sessions will cover a range of practical workshops guiding students through different approaches which could include exploratory drawing, thinking and making, video and performance, printmaking, fashion, and stitch.
The course is delivered by experienced tutors currently teaching on the Art and Design Foundation course. Working in our Foundation Art and design studios will help to familiarise students with the equipment and resources used in creative arts subjects giving you confidence in your creative abilities and strong preparation for your next level of creative arts study.
Courses will provide guidance to students wishing to make an application to the Art Foundation course and/or the undergraduate courses. The course is suitable for all ages 16 + who wish to gain more experience in art and design in order to make an informed choice about further study.
Each two day course will include 1-1 support on portfolio building and different practical skills. Students wishing to generate a significant portfolio of work could attend all a number of the sets.
