Course Description

The field of Genetics focuses on the study of heredity and the variation of inherited characteristics. There are a number of reasons to be  interested in Genetics, ranging from understanding the evolution of a species, to the role of genetics in disease, and by extension, to the concept of personalised medicine. The recent advances in technologies have resulted in an abundance of knowledge about the genomes of organisms, and an understanding of the basic concepts of genetics are essential to understanding this exciting and rapidly expanding field of study.
