BrookesEdge - Chinese courseDescriptionThis free course is for OBU students only and is part of BrookesEdge. Classes are 2 hours per week, running on Fridays 2-4pm for 10 weeks. This class is on campus. Students must have a valid student number and OBU email to enrol. If you want to sign-up but can't do this time, do send us an email at [email protected] and we will see if we can accomodate. Through BrookesEDGE, you can take part in a wide range of activities outside your studies, to make the most of your time at university and stand out in the job market. BrookesEDGE is a co-curricular scheme run by the University and Brookes Union.
Chinese After-School Club - WOCPDescriptionThis After School Club will run on Mondays 3:15-4:15pm at West Oxfordshire Community Primary (WOCP). The club will be hosted by the Confucius Institute at Oxford Brookes University. The club is £6 per hour. This payment is for 9 weeks from October 7th to 16th December . There will be no class on the 28th of October for half-term, there will also be no class on the 4th of November for an INSET day. The aim of this class is to foster an interest and kickstart exposure to Chinese language learning and culture! We hope students at WOCP will enjoy the after school club. Chinese CalligraphyDescriptionThis course is for students to build upon their basic knowledge of Chinese calligraphy. The course will cover basic strokes, stroke orders and character arrangement. If you have taken our previous calligraphy courses, this one will have new characters so you should still be able to join. Students will be provided with their own brush, ink and calligraphy paper for the course. Course time: Thursdays 5:30-7:00 Please note a minimum of 3 students is required to run this course. We also offer a Calligraphy bundle for £10 alongside this course. Included in the bundle:
This bundle will be £10 in total and we will provide it to you at your first class. The bundle doesn't include ink. As usual our classes will be able to provide all the materials so don't worry if you aren't interested in purchasing this optional bundle.
GCSE Chinese Children's courseDescriptionClasses are 1.5 hours per week, on Tuesdays 7-8:30pm. This course is designed for children under 15-year-old with Chinese language speaking background aiming to enhance their daily Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing. This GCSE lesson aims at tutoring the GCSE Mandarin curriculum to UK immigrant Chinese students who plan to take the GCSE exam in the near future. We cover all topic areas from the GCSE course specification, with interactive activties, exercises, games and more!
