DescriptionOxford Brookes Business School is excited to be launching a series of short courses aimed at upskilling business professionals. Short course participants will benefit by learning about current business research and practice, and will take away tools and actions to enable them to tackle key business and leadership challenges. In this course the tutors will challenge you to think and act differently, using a mix of thought-provoking academic perspectives, stimulating case studies and practical exercises. The emphasis is categorically on creating practical deliverables, grounded in solid understanding of the issues in the context of your organisation.
Business Improvement for Operational Excellence: £250 Designed to help businesses free up capacity by reducing waste and enabling focus on the bottom line, this course will be beneficial for all organisations but particularly those responsible for driving change, or in operational or support functions.
Improving your Sustainability: £250 Understanding sustainability is increasingly important for businesses and their stakeholders. In this programme we look at what we mean by sustainability, who is interested in what business does relating to sustainability, what can businesses do and how can they measure progress.
Leadership and change: £300 This is a leadership course designed to help leaders thrive in a changing work environment and world. The first part of the course is focused on understanding yourself as a leader; leveraging your natural strengths so you are able to confidently adapt to different leadership challenges. The second part makes use of real life case studies to enhance your ability to exercise inclusive and responsible leadership. This course is suitable for those already in a management or leadership role.
Finance for Strategic Thinkers: £250 Provides managers with an understanding of how financial information is used to monitor and control the business, to inform strategic decision making, and the confidence to discuss financial issues with finance professionals. It is not about bookkeeping.
Unlocking Strategic Innovation: Innovating for competitive advantage: £250 Covering core concepts of innovation, this course will help Senior Executives, Entrepreneurs and SME owners understand how innovation can help organisations to grow, adapt, be more resilient, and outcompete rivals.
