Short Course (non-credit) Cancellation Policy

Oxford Brookes University CPD & Training Unit is committed to providing high-quality training opportunities. We recognise that on occasion delegates will book onto our courses and subsequently find that they are unable to attend. In these situations, we ask that participants notify us of their need to cancel as soon as possible.

If you need to cancel

Please contact us at hlscpdadmissions@brookes.ac.uk as soon as possible. 

• You have a 14-day 'cooling-off' period from your date of booking to receive a full refund, unless the application deadline has already passed or the course begins during those 14 days.

• If you notify us of your cancellation more than 14 days before the start of the course, we will provide a full refund or a one-time transfer to the next available course run (if applicable), provided all scheduled course dates within 12 months are available at the time of transfer.

• If you notify us of your cancellation less than 14 days prior to the start of the course, we will offer a one-time transfer to the next available course run (if applicable), provided all scheduled course dates within a 12-month period are available at the time of transfer. Otherwise, the full fee will be payable regardless of the reason (e.g. personal circumstances, inclement weather or travel delays).

• Where participants have booked a place at an event and do not attend, the full fee will be payable.

Summary of Cancellation and Non-Attendance Policy

Where participants experience persistent technical difficulties after joining a course, please notify us at hlscpdadmissions@brookes.ac.uk as soon as possible. We will provide the opportunity of a one-time transfer to the next available course run (if applicable), provided all scheduled course dates within a 12-month period are available at the time of transfer.

Oxford Brookes University expressly excludes any liability for any direct or indirect losses or damages arising as a result of such a cancellation and will not, for example, be responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred. 

If we need to cancel

To ensure a high-quality experience, courses require a minimum number of participants and may be cancelled if registration is insufficient.

If we need to cancel a course, you will receive a full refund or a place on a future run of the same course (if applicable), provided all scheduled course dates within a 12-month period are available at the time of transfer. Full advice on refunds/ credits will be provided at the time of cancellation. Oxford Brookes University is not liable for any direct or indirect losses or damages arising as a result of such a cancellation and will not, for example, be responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred.
